Twitter Famous is a series on maximising your Twitter followers and ultimately monetizing your social media efforts. For starters’ we’ll be learning to Tweet new blog posts sans-plugin with a handy-dandy free online service.
One of the main goals involved with growing your Twitter Following is to gain more traffic to your web site. You likely already Tweet when you are finished writing a blog post, this will just save you a lot of time. I put together this video demonstrating how to automatically tweet new blog posts to Twitter. If you plan on finishing this video series with me and learning to monetize your Twitter account, you should pay close attention to the feed automation method in this video, because we will be using it again in the next step.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of LG Chocolate Touch. All opinions are 100% mine.
When LG does electronics, they really mean business. When I got the chance to review the LG Chocolate Touch I knew I was in for
The LG Chocolate Touch has Dobly Mobile Technology, 1-TouchSocial Media Updates and a 3.2MP Camera/Recorder
something special. The sound quality on these phones really lives up to the hype on TV advertisements because it uses Dolby Mobile technology for crystal-clear sound. This is the type of phone that I think would make a great Christmas gift for a blogger. While offering the normal talk, text and data that most smartphones do, the Chocolate Touch also lets you use social media as well as capturing pictures and video.
Because I do video blogging, music and run this little web site, I tend to need to carry a lot of devices with me when I go places. That is probably why I can see the value in such a multifunctional device. But that doesn’t mean it is just people like me who like to be able to snap pictures or video clips and post them to FaceBook even before they get home.
I would be updating my blog and tweeting all day long. People would probably get (more) sickof me.
Lets face it, not all of man kind’s accomplishments are genius. Not all of them are even usefull. Here at CrunchPlay, we think that if we can’t laugh at ourselves, we aren’t doing anything right. So for this holiday season we are taking a look at some major fails in the world of inventing throughout 2009.
Butter Stick
Nothing says Handy like a good old Stick-o-butter. Our first useless invention is the rediculous Butter Stick.
In Car Fry-Holder
You know when you are driving and you need somewhere to put your french fries? How often would you say that is? Apparently there are people who have this problem often enough to necessitate a special device to hold your french fries while you are driving.
Pizza Cutter Fork
This is not only a stupid invention, but it is a dangerous invention. The inventor of the Pizza Cutter Fork is also the person responsible for the budet-toilet easy-chair.
Subway Chin Holder
Another dangerous invention that fails to make any sense comes to us from the subways of Japan. The Subway Chin Support device makes me wonder if they have thought how badly this could mangle a person’s spine in an accident.
Office Supply Tie
So you need to look slick, right? This means you’ll have to decorate your neck and chest with a fancy tie. But hey, you also need a place to store your business cards, scissors and other office supplies dont you? Not everyone can afford a desk.
The CMS solution for hosting many types of business and professional web sites that I recommend is self -hosted WordPress, however, that doesn’t mean that free blog sites don’t have their place. Many Internet Marketers even make money on free blogs hosted at various hot spots on the web.
Free blogs, though they are not without their limits, serve many useful purposes to your web presence. One of the easiest ways to generate massive amounts of free backlinks pointing back to your web site is by starting lots of free blogs in related niches and peppering those blogs with links to your main site. There are still plenty more places that offer you a free blog just a small part of their user experience. These are just some of the more feature rich ones I have uncovered. What are some of your favorite blogging sites?
Sometimes people you trust can quickly turn into people who’s hands you don’t want certain power in anymore. Email passwords are obviously sensitive data information that you wouldn’t volunteer to just anybody but sometimes the occasion arises where it might seem ok to share. Quickly things like this can turn around and bite you from behind. If you think someone might be checking your email there are things you can do to be certain before taking any other actions.
The best way to avoid having your email’s santity violated is to never give out your passwords. Not even to spouses. In fact that can end up being more disastrous than anybody else you could give it to. Keep your private information to yourself and you will be safe in your online travels. However, should you need extra security, you can use these tips.
One way to catch someone red-handed snooping through your email is by setting a small trap with a hit counter. All you need to do is set up an account with any free hit counter that provides IP tracking. The counter site will provide you with an html code which would normally be pasted on your personal web site. Take this code and paste it into the HTML editor of your email client. Now send it to yourself from a dummy email address. Make sure to name it something irrisistable like “Password list” or “Credit Card Numbers”.
Now mark the email as “Read” in your email client and wait. Periodically you should check the stats from the hit counter web site. Any hits on that unopened email yet? If there are you have their IP address and more than enough info about them to take further action.
If you use Gmail you can easily see where and when your account was accessed right from your inbox.x. Scrolling to the bottom of the screen, look for an area that says “Account Access”. Click on details and it will show you the most recent data of who has accessed your account from when and where.
Email hacking happens mostly through phishing scams or by knowing the person you are hacking. Don’t make your secret questions easy to guess for someone who knows you. Remember to keep your private data to yourself because there are few people that you can trust in this world.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Eye-Fi. All opinions are 100% mine.
I always found the process of hunting down my USB cord and connecting it to the PC then booting up my camera in order to transfer pictures a little cumbersome. When they started using SD memory cards in newer digital camera models I was a little relieved to be free of tangles of USB cords. Once I started getting into photo retouching with Photoshop I had to begin resizing batches of photos after uploading them to my PC. I then began to grow tired of transferring new photos consistently.
Once I started using photos uploaded from my mobile phone just to include a picture with my blog posts I suddenly realized what would make things easier: Make my camera wireless. It was all the steps involved with cables or card readers that made things tiresome in the first place, maybe if my camera was wireless it would be refreshing.
Making a digital camera wireless is now easy for anyone to with a wireless SD Card. Eye-Fi is a wireless SD memory card with built in Wi-Fi to make it easy to beam your photos and videos to your computer and favorite photo sharing sites. Eye-Fi automatically backs up and organizes your media with date-based folders and the best part is you don’t have to plug it in. You can even upload to web sites without your computer with an SDHC enabled camera and your wireless router.
With a device like this I could truly see myself using my digital camera more often and making the time to edit and post new pictures regularly. Below is a video demonstrating the Wi-FI SD Card idea more thoroughly. This could really change the way people upload and share their photos.
