Back to Rapture in Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams

So serene

So serene

It’s finally happening again and a whole new adventure is unfolding inside the underwater city of Rapture. Ever since completing the first Bioshock I was eagerly awaiting the release of some footage of this game. Now, after being severely patient we have been blessed a sneak preview at what developers are doing to create another terrifying experience far under the sea. Take a look at the footage here.

There’s not much released about Bioshock 2 other than the fact that you play as a big daddy for untold reasons and you’re pursuing a little sister who’s grown up into…yes you guessed it folks…a big sister. She’s apparently hell bent on re-establishing Rapture and she’s frightening looking equipped with a giant syringe on her arm. As you walk through the already explored Rapture (which shows evidence of your main character from Bioshock being there) you will be followed by big sister.

Another exciting feature is you can now swim through playable areas. And just seeing the water break through the glass in the clip…I thought I might cry. I remember playing Bioshock and always wishing the glass would explode and now my dreams have finally been answered…or should I say…my sea of dreams? That was terrible.

Bioshock 2: Sea Of Dreams won’t be out until November/December 2009 but something tells me it’s going to be well worth the wait.

I was one of the few people that liked this game. I thought it’s format and concept were original. I eagerly await the storyline for part 2 thanks for the article.

When watching the video I was glad to see that this time while playing as Big Daddy you have full view of everything. What I did not like in the first Bioshock is when you got into the Big Daddy suit you could only see out of the visor portion of the suit as opposed to a complete view.
